Adaptation

Humans are born with a particular instinct,

to adapt

This is a survival necessity,
as being adaptive
in other words,
one is capable of fitting into this constantly changing world.

This is strongly echoed by Charles Darwin
as he had theorized the idea of natural selection,
which suggests the survival of the fittest.

For us human,
being adaptive has made us who we are and where we are
when compared to other living organism

However, may this gift from heaven be a two sided blade?
Providing us the capability to cope with the present,
on the other hand losing the ability to hold one's emotion?

Regardless being grief, surprised, happy, angry, disgusted, joyful, anxious, disappointed etc
despite the degree of those emotions,
as one will gradually adapt to any emotional arousal,
any emotional change
will gradually abate to a fixed level of feeling (which defers among one another),
a neutral feeling where you won't feel particularly positive or negative.

No emotions can last forever.......

Maybe, this is an essential mechanism for us human
to constantly compel us not to dwell in the past,
but live in the present?

Ironic....

Founder effect

Founder effect....

Tacitly, it happened.

Inevitably

*sigh*

Neither side is right or wrong.
It's just relativism,
in terms of view of life, interest, characteristics, mindset.....

名存实亡
我惋惜。
但要知道,孤掌难鸣。
